The Delhi BJP today welcomed the announcement of a special scheme to tackle air pollution in the national capital and enhanced compensation to victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in the Budget 2018-19.

It is a balanced and development-oriented budget, said Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari.

"It has brought benefits of economic reforms undertaken by the Narendra Modi government to every section of the country," he added.

Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta said improved allocation for Delhi and enhanced compensation to victims of the 1984 riots were highlights of the budget.

He lauded Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for announcing special measures to tackle the rising pollution level in Delhi and the adjoining areas.

Delhi has been given Rs 790 crore in the 2018-19 budget, up from Rs 757.99 crore in the previous budget.
