IUCN partners with state govt for wild life conservation

With this, the state government will be able to acquire scientific expertise and a concrete plan of action will be drawn up to protect the bio-diversity considering the impact of the industrialisation on wild life.

The move, an official of the state government said, will provide a road-map for sustainability of the natural beauty and Gujarat's bio-diversity.

The partnership will deliberate beyond Asiatic Lions and also take into consideration all endangered species such as rare turtles and dugong.

The support from the IUCN has ascertained a noteworthy course of action to safeguard the wild ass, wetlands, including the Flamingo City of Kutch, sloth bear and mangroves.

 

A senior state government official said such a tie-up will help the state to take up studies in collaboration with other countries.
