Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) today expressed strong resentment at the decision of the BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra to scrap the reservation for Muslim community in educational institutions.
In a statement, IUML all-India president and former Union minister E Ahamed said this showed that the Devendra Fadnavis government is not prepared to honour the legitimate legal and constitutional benefits for the backward classes and minorities.
Ahamed said this decision also went against the assurance given in Parliament by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the legal and constitutional guarantees for minorities would be protected.

"The avowed stand of the IUML has always been that Jammu and Kashmir is an inalienable part of India and the party has nothing to do with separatists", Ahamed added.
