Ivory crafting & gold coins to be exhibited on Intl.Museum Day

In a bid to attract people towards the museum, Odisha's Culture department has decided to exhibit ivory crafting and old silver and golden coins on International Museum Day here tomorrow.

Culture secretary Rabind Kumar Padhy said this after inaugurating the two costly elephant teeth, old silver and golden coin here today.

The ivory crafting items were collected from Jeypore Palace. The silver and golden coins were collected from Nabarangapur District Treasury which was donated by a farmer about 10 years ago. Padhy was district collector of Nabarangapur when the farmer donated the ancient coins.

The ivory crafting contains Ram Lila and Krushna lila pictures in a artistic manner. In other elephant teeth 'Baman', 'Machhya', 'Nrushingha', 'Kruma' and 'Baraha' avatar of Lord Vishnu are crafted.
