Ivory pieces recovered off Tiruchendur coast

Two pieces of "Ivory" each measuring about one foot were recovered today by pearl divers off the coast of Tiruchendur, famous for pearls, officials said.

The divers handed them over to the Tiruchendur Lord Murugan temple officials and they, in turn, informed the police who seized the ivory pieces.

The value of the ivory pieces is being ascertained, officials said.
