The Indian Women's Press Corps (IWPC) pitched for a strong code of conduct for taking action against persons including Parliamentarians, who are found making obscurantist, conservative and gender-insensitive remarks.
According to an official statement released today, IWPC expressed deep concern over the manner in which "Parliamentarians belonging to certain political parties, of late, have been making irresponsible statements concerning women."
Observing that this is not the first time that such remarks and comments have been made against women and others, IWPC reiterated its old demand for a strong code of conduct for Parliamentarians that effectively takes action against those individuals who are found making such remarks.
