J-K: 79 officers promoted to KAS time scale

Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered promotion of 79 officers of various departmental services to the time scale of Kashmir Administrative Service.

The promotion was approved in a meeting of the state cabinet headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, an official spokesperson said.

The Cabinet also accorded sanction to the creation of seven posts for Zilla Sainik Welfare Office at Kargil in frontier region of Ladakh.

The posts included secretary, head assistant, senior assistant, junior assistant, welfare Organiser and two peon-cum-chowkidars, he said.

The Cabinet approved a resolution regarding recruitment of teachers under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan in upgraded primary schools through the 'Rehabar-e-Taleem' scheme.
