J-K action plan for developing tourism in 3 areas

The action plan was unanimously approved at the Governing Body meetings of the three tourist destinations chaired by Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora here yesterday, an official spokesman said.

He said Rs 3 crore has been sanctioned for Kokernag Development Authority, Rs 1.25 crore for Kishtwar Development Authority and Rs 1 crore for Aharbal Development Authority.

The spokesman said the Minister directed the concerned officers to complete all the ongoing projects within the stipulated time frame and taking care of quality and aesthetic character of tourism infrastructure according to the wishes of tourists at National and International level.

Maintaining that the main objective of creating the Development Authorities was to develop new potential sites for tourism on modern lines and create a world class tourist infrastructure at these places to attract more and more tourists, the Minister said several steps have been taken to give fillip to the efforts for promoting tourism in the state which is mainstay of state's economy.

 

"The efforts will continue to develop more infrastructures at these tourist places," Jora said.

He said God has bestowed enormous natural beauty to several parts of Jammu and Kashmir which has been acknowledged as one of the best places in the world.

"It is our duty to conserve the natural beauty with the collective efforts so that maximum people from round the world visit this part of the universe to see and enjoy the natural beauty," he added.
