The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly today passed a Bill pertaining to the improvement, development and management of golf courses in the state.
The Bill was moved by the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah on behalf of Minister for Tourism in the House.
The Bill was discussed in detail and House passed it after brief discussion with a minor amendment suggested by the Members.

Under the bill, the government proposes to constitute Jammu and Kashmir Golf Development and Management Authority for administration, management and governance of golf courses as may be notified by the government from time to time.
There are six golf courses in Jammu and Kashmir and several others are being constructed.
