Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Youth Services and Sports Imran Raza Ansari today asked the authorities to gear up their men and machinery beforehand for making foolproof arrangements for the upcoming 10-day Muharram period.
The Minister gave this direction while addressing a high level meeting convened to discuss and finalise the Muharram arrangements in the valley, an official spokesman said.
He said Minister for Revenue Javaid Mustafa Mir and Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Aseia Naqash were also present in the meeting.

The meeting discussed threadbare various issues and took many decisions to make foolproof arrangements, the spokesman said.
Ansari asked the concerned authorities to gear up their men and machinery before hand and form survey teams to ascertain the problems around 'Imambargahas' and routes of the Muharram processions.
He also directed them to convene separate meetings in their respective jurisdictions to yield better results.
"We have started process of arrangements in advance to ensure elaborate Muharram arrangements so that people could feel difference at ground level," the minister said.
He asked Director CAPD to make adequate arrangements for supply of ration, sugar and LPG during the month.
Director Health Services Kashmir was asked to keep ambulances with first aid facility available at imambargahas and procession routes.
Likewise, Srinagar Municipal Corporation was directed to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in the said areas.
The Chief Engineers of PHE and PDD were directed to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply in the Shia dominated areas.
The Deputy Commissioners were asked to make proper arrangements in their respective districts so that mourners do not face any inconvenience during the observance of the Muharram, the spokesman said.
