J&K: Central team to review progress of projects under PMDP

An inter-departmental team of senior central government officers headed by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi arrived here today to review the progress of the projects under Prime Minister's developmental package (PMDP) for Jammu and Kashmir.

The Centre has so far released around Rs 36,000 crore out of the total developmental package of Rs 80,000 crore which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2015.

The central team includes officers from the Union ministries of Home Affairs, Health, Human Resource Development, Youth Affairs and Sports, Agriculture, Tourism, Urban Development, Defence, Finance, Power etc as well as the NITI Aayog, an official statement said.
 

The team will be holding extensive deliberations with the senior state officials led by Chief Secretary B B Vyas here tomorrow to review the progress of projects under PMDP and other flagship developmental projects, the statement said.

It will also discuss the bottlenecks impeding the execution of these projects and how to expedite the work, the statement added.
