Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today directed the custodian department to undertake mapping of its assets through scientific means to protect these on a long-term basis.
Chairing a review meeting of the department here, the chief minister regretted that the assets of the department have got encroached in the past.
Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Abdul Rehman Veeri was also present in the meeting.

Mufti advised the department to prioritise raising of social properties like the community halls, marriage halls, public utilities etc which can benefit a large section of society.
Reviewing at length the performance of the department, the chief minister directed the constitution of a committee of officials headed by Chief Secretary B B Vyas to look into the claims and counter claims of rent on the land and other assets of the department.
The chief minister also directed the department to come up with detailed project reports of the works it intends to undertake.
