J&K Congress creates panel to liaise with NC

Jammu and Kashmir Congress today constituted a second panel to ensure effective liaison with its ally NC for the success of their candidates from the three Lok Sabha seats in the valley.

JKPCC president Saifuddin Soz has constituted a 24-member committee headed by Tourism Minister G A Mir for effective liaison with National Conference in connection with the Parliamentary elections, a statement issued by the party said here.

The committee will organise close liaison at the district level in Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts in the Anantnag Parliamentary constituency from where sitting NC MP Mehboob Beg is seeking re-election and is challenged among others by opposition PDP president Mehbooba Mufti.
 

Yesterday, JKPCC announced a 21-member panel headed by vice president of the state unit Ghulam Nabi Monga for the Baramulla parliamentary constituency.

Sitting NC MP Sharief-ud-din Shariq is fighting from Baramulla, from where PDP has fielded former deputy chief minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig.
