Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police today issued an advisory restricting traffic movement on Srinagar-Jammu national highway to ensure smooth passage of employees and records from winter capital Jammu to here as part of the bi-annual Darbar move practice.
"In view of Darbar move, traffic on the 300-km Jammu-Srinagar National highway will be allowed one way on April 27 and 28 and May 4 and 5," a spokesman of the traffic police said.
He said the traffic on arterial road, which connects Kashmir with rest of the country, would be regulated in one-way direction - from Jammu to Srinagar only on the given dates for smooth passage of Darbar move vehicles.
Civil Secretariat and other move offices will close in winter capital Jammu on April 26 and reopen in the summer capital on May 6 as per the annual 'Darbar move' - an age old practice under which the state government functions six months each in Jammu and Srinagar.
