J-K DGP for long-term planning in infrastructure development

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police S P Vaid has called for long-term planning in infrastructure development, keeping in view the requirements as per the topography and weather condition of the areas.

Holistic plan has to be envisaged for police housing and other related requirements of the organisation, he said.

Vaid said this while presiding over the 38th Board of Directors Meeting (BoDs) of JK Police Housing Corporation (PHC) held at its Headquarters here today.

He said to meet the future requirements of JK Police, in the recent years hugeinfrastructure have been raised in all the districts of the state and many construction works are yet to executed.
 

In view of the increasing manpower more living facilities are required at different places which are being undertaken during the current year to enhance facilities for the personnel, he said.

The DGP said the corporation has done commendable job by executing mega construction programme in the state.

He asked the officers and engineers to keep in mind the weather conditions of a particular area while drawing the building plans.

Vaid said the state, having different topography and climate, different designs are required in order to face extreme weather conditions.

The meeting discussed the execution of new works assigned to the corporation under restoration of infrastructure damaged due to 2014 floods.

It was informed that 68 works would be executed by the corporation in the coming days and with the completion of these works, JK Police personnel would have better living and working facilities.

Meeting also approved enhancement in the monthly remuneration of consolidated staff. Budget for the year (2017-18) was discussed and later approved.
