In the aftermath of last month's fidayeen attack on the Police Lines complex in Pulwama, J&K DGP S P Vaid today said officers have been directed to review security and install night vision-enabled CCTV cameras around police establishments in the Valley.
The DGP, accompanied by IGP (Kashmir) Munir Ahmad Khan, today visited Pulwama and Shopian, where he held police darbars and officers' meetings, a police spokesman said.
He said DIG (South Kashmir) S P Pani and SSP (Pulwama) Mohammad Aslam Choudhary briefed DGP Vaid on the security, the law and order situation and different measures taken by them.

"The officers have been directed to review security, particularly the perimeter security of all police stations. The new security system should also involve placing of CCTV cameras in and around the police establishments, having night vision facilities," Vaid said in Pulwama, in south Kashmir.
The spokesman said that the DGP assured of a good number of light bullet-proof vests being procured for the personnel.
Vaid distributed relief items among the families affected by the fidayeen attack and assured them of help so that their residential quarters are ready as soon as possible.
