An organisation representing Jammu and Kashmir government employees today decided to organise a march towards Civil Secretariat on January 30 to protest against the government's failure to fulfil their demands.
"We have decided to march towards Civil Secretariat from Press Club on January 30," J&K Government Employees Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) leader Abdul Qayoom said here.
Thousands of employees from all three regions of the state will participate in the march to demand the implementation of the agreement made between the government and members of JCC in 2011 over their demands, he said.
The government has not honoured the agreement over the demands of grant of sixth pay commission arrears, enhancement of age limit from 58 to 60 years, removal of pay anomalies and regularisation of daily wage and contractual employees, Qayoom said.
JCC is an apex body of several organisations which represents over four lakh employees working in the various state government departments.
