J-K: Five educational officials suspended

Authorities today suspended five officials of School Education Department, served show cause notice to 14 teachers and stopped salary of 63 employees of Agriculture department for dereliction of duty in Kashmir Valley.

Zonal Education Officer of Hardapanzoo, Headmaster Boys High School, Sail, Senior Assistant Boys High School, Magam and Incharge office High School Sail in Budgam district were put under suspension for their "negligent attitude" and "furnishing wrong information", an official spokesman said.

Similarly, he said, Zonal Education Officer of Gurez in Bandipora district was also suspended for same reasons.

Director School Education, Kashmir, Tariq Ali Mir ordered the suspension of the five officers with immediate effect, the spokesman said.
 

He said 14 teachers of Anantnag, Budgam, Baramulla, Shopian and Pulwama districts have been served show cause notice for failing to attend training courses at Delhi and other places.

The Teachers and Masters have been asked to explain their position within a week's time, otherwise action under rules shall follow, the spokesman said.

He said District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah also conducted surprise inspection of the Directorate of Agriculture Department and found 63 employees unauthorisedly late or absent from duty.

"Accordingly orders have been passed to the Drawing and Disbursing Officers and concerned Treasury Officers to stop the salary of the employees," the spokesman said.
