Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today appealed to people and voluntary organisations of the state for maximum financial assistance to the recent flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
There was a need to provide maximum financial assistance for reconstruction of the state and rehabilitation of its people, an official spokesman said quoting the chief minister in a statement issued here.
People and voluntary organisations could extend financial assistance in the Chief Minister's relief fund through cheque and draft, he said.

They could also deposit the amount directly in the account number 1378820696 of Central Bank of India, Cantt branch, he said.
Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan has sent a circular to all senior officials in the state to coordinate and collect maximum assistance (at least a day salary) from their subordinate officers and employees and deposit the same in the relief fund, he said.
The state government had already released Rs 20 crore financial assistance to Jammu and Kashmir from the relief fund, the spokesperson said.
