J-K forest dept retrieves 18 acres of forest land in Rajouri

The Jammu and Kashimr Forest Department has retrieved 18 acres of land from encroachers in the Rajouri district's Nowshera Forest Division, besides dismantling two structures on the spot, an official said.

The range officer of Lamberi and the assistant director of the Forest Protection Force supervised the anti- encroachment drive, an official spokesman said here.

The department has retrieved 18 acres of forest land in Treru Block, Lamberi Range of the Nowshera Forest Division and dismantled two structures, he said.

The divisional forest officer (DFO), Nowshera, has ordered fencing of the retrieved area immediately to prevent from further encroachment, the spokesman said.
 

The action was taken in response to a complaint lodged by Dil Mohd of Teryath belt of Rajouri before the J-K Accountability Commission, he said.
