J&K gears up for new tourism season

Ahead of the beginning of tourism season in the Valley, the Jammu and Kashmir government today reviewed the preparations in this regard and pitched for cooperation among various stakeholders to make it successful.

"We welcome tourists for the new season and look forward to a very good tourist season. The people, including those associated with tourism should extend full cooperation for the success of this season," Tourism Minister G A Mir said here.

The meeting, attended by senior government officials and leading tourism players, was convened to discuss measures needed to be taken for the smooth conduct of the upcoming tourism season.
 

"There is more to tourism in Kashmir than just Mughal gardens and famous resorts. We are planning to develop new spots and create many more attractive circuits," he said.

The minister asked officials to ensure better facilities for tourists and sought cooperation of the general public and tourism stake holders for the success of the tourism season.
