J&K governor briefed about rescue operations after Amarnath

A top Army officer in Kashmir valley today met the state Governor N N Vohra and briefed him about the ongoing search and rescue operation being carried out around the Baltal base camp along the Amarnath-cave route in Ganderbal district following a cloudburst.

General Officer Commanding of Srinagar-based 15 Corps Lt Gen Subrata Saha met the Governor at the Raj Bhavan and briefed him about the ongoing search and rescue operations being carried out around the Baltal Base Camp, with Army's full assistance, an official spokesman said.

Three persons were killed and 19 others injured when a cloudburst struck near the Baltal base camp last night. Two other persons were reported missing in the incident which also damaged over 50 tents and shops.
 

The Governor and Lt Gen Saha also discussed issues relating to the internal security situation in the valley, the spokesman said.
