J-K govt approves regularisation of over 1,500 Rehbar-e Zirats

Jammu and Kashmir government has approved regularisation of over 1,500 temporary workers involved in various work in the Agriculture Department since 2006.

The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting chaired by Agriculture Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura on May 16, an official spokesman said today.

The minister had given instructions to the Agriculture Production Department to process regularisation orders of 1,563 Rehbar-e Zirats (ReZs), including those working in projects and those pursuing higher studies, besides those who were rendering services continuously till May 23.

"It was a long pending demand which has been fulfilled," Hanjura said, adding the decision which will provide boost to the agriculture activities in the state.
 

The minister asked the ReZs to work with utmost dedication and come up to the expectations of the farmers.

He also directed them to conduct frequent field visits to their respective jurisdictions and make the farmers aware about the latest techniques besides conducting awareness programmes about schemes of the agriculture department.
