Jammu and Kashmir State Social Security Board was formed today to perform the functions assigned to it under the Unorganized Workers Social Security Act 2008.
The members of the Board include MLAs Altaf Ahmad Wani (Kaloo) and Rajiv Jasrotia while Administrative Secretary, Labour and Employment department will be the ex-officio member Secretary.
The members representing the state government in the Board include representatives of Finance department, Planning and Development department, Industries and Commerce department, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj department, Social Welfare department, Revenue Department and Agriculture Production Department.
As per a government notification, all these representatives have to be not below the rank of Additional Secretaries and the Minister concerned will be the ex-officio Chairman of the Board.
Members from unorganized sector, representatives of the employers of unorganized sector, eminent persons from the society are also part of the Board.
