Work was affected in offices, schools and other establishments due to the strike called by Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of the employees who are demanding implementation of agreements signed with the government in July this year.

"There was strike in government offices and work was paralysed. But government has turned a deaf ear to our strike," President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Mohammad Gafoor Dar told reporters here today.

The striking employees are demanding a policy on regularisation of daily-wage earners, besides enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 68 years and removal of pay anomalies in clerical cadre.
