The road shows aim to facilitate better understanding of tourism potential and improved security scenario in the state and help in removal of negative advisories issued by the governments of various countries in Europe and America, Minister of State for Tourism Nasir Aslam Wani told the state Assembly here.
Replying to a question raised by Peerzada Mansoor Hussain during Question Hour, Wani said the process of removal of advisories has already begun with the government of Germany.
He said a high-level state delegation led by tourism minister had visited the USA and Canada recently to take part in the road shows to promote cooperation and dialogue between the tourism authorities, tourism and hospitality, trade and opinion makers of India and the two countries.
"Realising the importance of these markets for revival of foreign tourist arrivals, state tourism minister led a delegation to attend these road shows," he said, adding, "Government incurred an expenditure of Rs 4.11 lakh at uniform rate on each individual member of the team on travel in economy class, accommodation and other expenses."
Wani said Plan Allocation for the Tourism Sector for the current financial year is Rs 111.31 core (Capital Component).
