J-K govt invites suggestions on delimitation issue

Jammu and Kashmir government has invited valuable suggestions on new administrative units from the people so that delimitation as per their aspiration is made in the state,Deputy chief minister Tara Chand said today.

He said this here today during his interaction with various sections of people including leaders and members of political parties and civil society.

The agenda of government is to take development process to the door steps of the people and this will receive a new impetus with the creation of the new administrative units, Chand said.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee, (CSC) constituted for examining the Creation of New Administrative Units today visited Udhampur and Reasi districts and interacted with local representatives from the cross section of society to seek their suggestions and demands in connection with the creation of the new units.
 

Headed by Deputy Chief Minister, the CSC members interacted with representatives of political parties, Panchayat members, civil society members, besides local representatives of various social and non- governmental organizations to seek their suggestions and proposals with regard to the local demands for creation of new Tehsils, Blocks, Subdivisions, Niabats, Girdawar Halqas, and Patwar Halqas in these districts.

Chand said that Government has created CSC to examine the demands for implementation of the Delimitation Commission report and said that the committee will examine and consider the proposals of the people.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the proposals and suggestions received in this context will be sent to the revenue authorities for review which will be given due consideration before finalizing the constitution of new administrative units in the state.
