Jammu and Kashmir government has launched mobile medical units in three mountainous districts to cater to the rural population.
One mobile medical unit each had been sent to Rajouri, Udhampur and Doda districts and the facility would be soon extended to other districts, Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan said while flagging off these units from here yesterday.
Khan said these fully-equipped units developed at a cost of Rs 27 lakh each would provide medicare and other diagnostic facilities to the people of remote areas at their doorstep.

He said the government would take care of maintenance and upkeep of infrastructure and other assets created in the health sector and asked officials to ensure that these are properly managed.
The Minister urged doctors and staff members of hospitals and health centres to maintain punctuality and serve the people better.
