J-K govt offical booked in DA case

Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation today registered a case against a government official for possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income by allegedly resorting to "corrupt and illegal" practices.

"A case was registered against Assistant Engineer, TLMD-IV Pampore, Kuldeep Singh Sodhi on the outcome of verification conducted alleging therein that the officer during his service accumulated huge assets by resorting to corrupt and illegal practices," a spokesman of the SVO said.

He said preliminary verification revealed that the assets are disproportionate to his known source of income, therefore, constitute offences punishable under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
 

He said raids were simultaneously conducted at Jammu and Srinagar immediately after registering of a case against the accused officer.

"During searches, some incriminating documents were recovered which are under scrutiny," the spokesman said.
