J-K Govt officer killed in road accident in Kishtwar

A government officer was killed today when his vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down into river Chenab in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kistwar, Yasir Arafat Zargar, was on his way to Chatroo from Kishtwar when his vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down into river Chenab at Bhandakoot, police said.

After getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted Arafat to a hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead, they said.

After post-mortem, the body was handed over to his relatives for last rites, they said, adding a case has been registered in this regard.
 

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister of J&K Ghulam Nabi Azad has deeply condoled the untimely demise of Zargar.

Azad said that the State Government has lost a bright and talented officer.
