Jammu and Kashmir government today said that 1,18,850.66 quintals of seeds, 18,31,241.35 mt of fertiliser and 1,722.62 mt of pesticide have been provided to the farmers during the current year.
Replying to a question of Congress member Jahangir Hussain Mir in the Legislative Council, Minister of state for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi said 1,18,850.66 qt of seeds, 18,31,241.35 mt of fertiliser and 1,722.62 mt of pesticide have been provided to the farmers during the current year.
He said that besides state and district plan, various schemes are under implementation for development of agriculture sector, including Integrated Scheme of Oilseed, Pulses, Oil Palm and Maize, Seed Village Programme, and Horticulture Mission for the North-East and Himalayan States.
Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, National Food Security Mission (Rice and Wheat), Promotion and Strengthening of Agricultural mechanization through training, testing and demonstration, support to state extension programme for extension reforms and National Bamboo Mission are among the schemes which are being implemented, he said.
