Jammu and Kashmir government has released over Rs 550 crore for the flood-hit households and traders in the Valley, a senior official said today.

"A total of Rs 494.74 crore has been released under Prime Minister's Development Package for flood-hit households and traders across Kashmir valley," Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Asdhar Samoon said.

He said Rs 57.88 crore has been released to business establishments affected due to floods across the Valley under Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

According to an official spokesman, the relief was released after the State Administrative Council (SAC) met last week under the chairmanship of Governor NN Vohra and approved financial assistance under Prime Minister Development Package (PMDP) 2015 for providing relief to people whose houses were damaged due to the floods of September 2014.
