J&K govt requests PDP to end Assembly boycott

Jammu and Kashmir government today appealed to People's Democratic Party (PDP) to end its boycott of Assembly proceedings in the larger interest of democracy.

The PDP has been boycotting the proceedings for past one week.

Speaking in the J&K Assembly after the issues was raised, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Saifullah said he will be personally meeting PDP leaders in this regard.

Earlier, Assembly Speaker Mubarak Gul sought cooperation from all political parties to ensure smooth House proceedings, so that maximum number of issues related to public importance can be raised.

He appealed to the members to uphold sanctity and decorum of the House.
