J&K govt retrieves 125 acres of forest land: Bali Bhagat

Jammu and Kashmir government has retrieved 125 acres of forest land from encroachers in the state and a target has been given to the forest authorities to retrieve the remaining land.

"1000 kanal (125 acres) of forest land has been retrieved from the encroachers and target was given to the forest authorities to retrieve the remaining land," Minister for Forests, Social Welfare Bali Bhagat today.

He said the government would leave no stone unturned to take the land grabbers to task and would make every effort to retrieve the land for larger benefit of the society.

"The government has fixed a target of retrieving a notable chunk of encroached forest land this year," the Minister asserted.
 

Bhagat said it is the endeavor of the present coalition government to uplift and transform the socio-economic profile of the poor, backward and downtrodden people with equal opportunities of growth and development.
