The Jammu and Kashmir government today sent a group of 41 students from various schools in Reasi district on a week-long educational tour of Amritsar.

The tour was flagged off by Reasi Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ashwani Kumar Khajuria at the Mini Secretariat Complex in Reasi, officials said.

The students will visit historical and religious places, besides educational institutes in Amritsar, they said.

Khajuria hoped during the tour the students would get an opportunity to broaden their vision by learning about the places, culture and prospects in education and professional studies.

"I will suggest you to learn as much as you can as such an opportunity comes rarely in one's life where you will be provided with all sort of help from the government to know the world beyond you," he said.

He encouraged the students to take part in extra-curricular activities, adding that this would help them develop and infuse self-confidence.
