J&K Govt sets 60 days time-frame for verification of passports

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has set 60 days time-frame for the verification of passports by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials.

Replying to a question from National Conference MLC Aga Sayed Ahmad Rizvi in the Legislative Council, on behalf of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here, Minister for Finance Abdul Rahim Rather said that the verification for passport should be completed within 60 days.

The minister added that the passport related verifications by CID have been brought under the purview of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Guarantee Act, 2011.

Rather also mentioned that any person having any complaint regarding the verification should approach the Appellate Authority for redressal.
