J-K govt to form 'Corpus Fund' for police welfare

Jammu and Kashmir will set up a 'Corpus rpt Corpus Fund' for welfare of police personnel and their

families.

"A Corpus Fund would be established for the welfare of police personnel and their families in the state," Minister of State for Home, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo said while speaking at the 24th Attestation-cum-Passing out Parade at Police Training School-Kathua here today.

As many as 832 recruits passed out from PTS-Kathua.

The MoS Home further said, initial amount of Rs 5 crore would be provided by the government for setting up the Fund.

In order to bring improvements in the working of traffic and railway police, infrastructure would be strengthened, he said.
 

Appreciating the Jammu and Kashmir Police for safeguarding life and property of the people, Kichloo said the police have successfully dealt various challenges while playing a prime role in restoring peace in the state.

Appreciating efforts of senior officers and the school's training staff, the Minister said that they have taken extra pains in imparting training to the recruits.
