J-K govt to promote tourism at international level

Aiming to showcase Jammu and Kashmir as a safe tourist destination, the state government will be participating in the International Travel Fair at Berlin to convince foreign nations to lift the travel advisories to the state, a minister said today.

Replying to a supplementary question during Question Hour in the Legislative Council, Tourism Minister G A Mir said that the Jammu and Kashmir government will be taking part in the international travel fair Fair starting in Berlin on March 6 to showcase the state as a safe tourist destination.

Mir would be leading the tourism ministry team to Berlin where they will bat for the withdrawal of adverse travel advisories on Jammu and Kashmir at the event which is to run till March 11.
 

The state has already participated in the Spain Travel Fair at Madrid in January this year.

The minister further said that J-K would also be taking part in the international fair to be held in Canada in April adding that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been asked to lead the delegation for the important event.
