J&K govt to set up EOCs for effective disaster management

Jammu and Kashmir government has will set up Emergency Operation Centres (EOCs) at the divisional as well as district levels in the State for effective disaster management.

"For effective disaster management the Government is working on development of Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs) that would be established at the divisional as well as district levels in the State to help people in case of any eventuality," Minister for Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, Relief and Rehabilitation Syed Basharat Bukhari said.

Bukhari, who unfurled the national flag at a colourful function at District Police Lines Ramban yesterday, said the Government was focused on equitable development of all three regions of the State.
 

Unveiling the State government's vision in formulating various developmental projects and plans, he said the government was focused on equitable development of all three regions of the State.

He said that the work on the prestigious Udhampur-Banihal four lane road project shall begin shortly.

He also said that in an effort to provide job opportunities to youth of the area in various such projects the government has started a skill development programme.

Minister greeted the people on the occasion and recalled sacrifices of great leaders of the nation and freedom fighters who fought for independence from foreign rule.
