The Jammu and Kashmir government will soon launch a transparency portal and online redressal mechanism for the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department in the state.

"The department intends to launch a transparency portal and online redressal mechanism of FCS&CA department soon, for which officers concerned have been asked to finalise the pending work at the earliest," FCS&CA minister Choudhary Zulfkar Ali said.

He said the government intends to create a transparent system which will give people a clear picture of all types of works being carried out.

Setting up a transparency portal and creating online redressal mechanism for the FCS&CA department is a step in that direction, Ali said, adding "no lapse in the process would be tolerated".

He directed the officers to freeze the data of four districts Reasi, Ramban, Samba and Poonch in Jammu collected under National Food Security Act by this evening. Similar directive has been issued for Anantnag, Budgam, Kulgam and Shopian districts in Kashmir.

For the rest of the districts in the state, the minister directed the officers to complete the freezing of data before April 10.
