J-K Guv approves grants to Voluntary Cultural organisation

Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra has approved more than Rs 50 lakh under the financial assistance grant scheme to the Voluntary Cultural and Literary Organizations in the state.

As per the recommendations of the Expert Committees (Inspection Committee), the Governor has approved cumulative financial assistance of Rs 24.43 lakh for 125 Organizations for the financial year 2012-13, and Rs 27.34 lakh for 129 Organizations for the financial year 2013-14, an official spokesman said here today.

The Governor, who is a Patron and President of J-K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), has directed its Secretary Aziz Hajini that the proposals for financial assistance should be processed timely and the money deposited in bank accounts of the beneficiaries on annual, half yearly and quarterly basis.
 

The financial assistance is provided on annual basis to a maximum of 150 organizations in the state, within the budgetary provisions for the Scheme.
