Jammu and Kashmir Legislature would meet for the autumn session here next month.

Exercising powers conferred upon him under Section 53 of the State Constitution, Governor N N Vohra today issued orders for summoning the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council to meet in Srinagar on October 3 at 10.00 am and 11.00 am respectively, an official spokesman said.

The session will test the PDP-BJP alliance which took over the reins of the government in the state in March as opposition National Conference and Congress are expected to corner the government over its alleged failure to rehabilitate flood victims.

This will be the first session of the coalition government in the summer capital Srinagar.

Soon after taking over, the PDP-led coalition faced a daunting task of Budget session in the winter capital Jammu.
