The panel, which met here under the chairmanship of MLA Abdul Majid Wani, decided to recommend disciplinary action against government officials for delaying construction of the Ganpat bridge.

It was observed that the officials of Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) adopted delaying techniques during the construction of the bridge.

The panel unanimously decided that the committee will recommend disciplinary actions against the erring officials.

While discussing on observations contained in the CAG's audit report, the legislator Bashir Ahmad Shah asked the JKPCC authorities to remain vigilant that such incidents do not take place regarding the other ongoing projects in future.

The foundation stone of the bridge was laid by the then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in 2005-06.
