J&K police arrested 3 cops for loot of cash in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested 3 policemen for stealing cash from labourers in Jammu.

"Nirmal Bhuia today lodged a complaint at Janipur police station alleging that three men dressed in police uniform had entered in his jhuggi (hut) on the intervening night of April 30 and May 1 and took away cash of Rs 7,000 from him," a senior police officer told PTI.

During the course of enquiry, SHO, Janipur Police Station, identified the three policemen as constables Rash Pal Singh, Davinder Singh and Special Police Official (SPO) Sajjad Ahmed, of Flying Squad, 12 Roop Nagar, Janipur, Jammu, he said, adding that a case has been registered against them and they have been placed under suspension.
 

Further investigation is going on, he said.

Jammu SSP Uttam Chand said there will be zero tolerance on any such criminal misconduct by men in uniform.
