The police today conducted a three- hour-long search operation in several villages of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir after several braid-cutting incident were reported in several parts of the state.
Over three dozen braid-cutting cases have been reported from various parts of the state over the past couple of weeks, causing panic among the people.
"A search operation was carried out under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police of Reasi Tahir Sajad Bhat in Gran Morh and its adjoining villages. The operation lasted for three hours," a police spokesperson said.

He said the main objective of the search operation was to identify any suspicious person behind the braid-cutting incidents hiding in the area.
"Since a lot of plait-cutting incidents have happened over the past 10 days, the operation was undertaken to make the public confident and infuse in them a sense of security," the spokesperson said.
