J&K police seizes 59 kg of 'fukki'

Jammu and Kashmir police today recovered 59 kilogrammes of 'fukki', a narcotic substance, from a private car on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

The drug was found in Nus-Badragund village of Qazigund, 80 kms from here, in south Kashmir's Kulgam district after the locals informed the police about the suspicious movement of a private car, a police spokesman said.

He said the car was also seized but people, who were inside it, managed to escape.

The fukki, concealed in six bags, was seized by the police, the spokesman said.

He said a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered and a hunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
