J&K Police to host All India Police hockey in December

Arrangements for the eight-day championship were discussed at a senior police officers meeting chaired by ADGP Armed K Rajendra Kumar held at Armed Police Headquarters Jammu yesterday, a spokesman said.

Rajendra disclosed that 26 teams representing different states and Central police organisations of the country would take part in the tournament.

He said JKP has organised various national sporting events earlier in different disciplines including All India Police Football Championship, All India Police Wrestling Cluster and National Athletic Meet.

All these national championships are held under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board, he added.

Besides national level championships, the organisation has been organising a series of sporting activities in different parts of the state within and outside the department to promote sports culture.

 

The ADGP stressed upon the officers to work in close co-ordination and utilise past experience for making the championship a success.
