A prominent political activist from the R S Pura belt of Jammu today joined the Congress, along with scores of his supporters.
Jatinder Bhagat and his supporters were welcomed to the party by state Congress president G A Mir.
Mir said that the Congress was a party which provided equal opportunities to every section of society.
He said that all right thinking people preferred the Congress because of its secular character and progressive policies and that was why more and more people enrolling themselves in the party.
The day is not far away when the Congress will re-emerge stronger in the state as well as the country, he said.
