J&K records sale of 496 lakh liquor bottles in 2012

Jammu and Kashmir has recorded sale of 496.13 lakh bottles of liquor in 2012 with J&K Desi Whisky topping the the list with sale of 220.70 lakh bottles.

As per the statistics of the department of Excise in J&K, the state has registered a sale of 496.13 lakh bottles of various type of liquors in 2012-13.

It has shown an increase of 30.51 lakh bottles than 2011-2012, which recorded a sale of 465.62 lakh bottles. In year 2010-11, J&K state sold 432.79 lakh bottles of liquor as per the date of the Excise department.

The J&K Desi whisky sold record number of 220.70 lakh bottles in 2012-13 as compared to 145.74 lakh bottles of beer and 130.69 lakh bottles of Indian Made Foreign liquor (IMFL).
 

Similarly, in 2011-12, it sold 202.86 bottles of J&K Desi Whisky followed by 140.04 lakh bottles of Beer and 122.72 lakh bottles of IMFL.

In 2010-11, there was sale of 187.50 lakh bottles of JK Desi Whisky, 136.39 bottles of Beer and 108.90 lakh bottles of IMFL.
