J&K sniff first innings lead

A collective good bowling effort gave Jammu and Kashmir team a good chance to gain first innings lead against Andhra Pradesh on day two of their Group C Ranji Trophy match, here today.

J&K reduced Andhra Pradesh to 191 for eight after ending their first innings at 225.

JK resumed at 173 for six and added 52 runs before being bowled out. Number 10 batsman Waseem Raza played a crucial role with his unbeaten 27-run knock.

Ram Dayal, Mohammed Mudhasir, Owais Shah and Pervez Rasool took two wickets each to help J&K reach a position from where they can take a first innings lead.
 

Andhra opener Srikar Bharat top scored for the side with his 39 before being caught behind off Shah. Their hopes to overhaul J&K score rest on Kakani Harish, who was unbeaten on 21 and giving him company was Marripuri Suresh (17).

Jammu & Kashmir 1st innings: 225 all out in 108.3 overs (Bandeep Singh 69, M Dar 35; DP Vijaykumar 3/63).

Andhra 1st innings: 191 for 8 in 69 overs.(K Bharath 39; Kakani Harish 21; P Rasool 2/22).
